Can't delete scores

• aug 10, 2024 - 18:32

I wanted to delete some scores because I didn't want them taking up any unnecessary storage on my computer. I saw someone else on here say that you could delete scores from your Cloud Scores folder if you saved them to the Cloud. I did save them to the cloud, but I don't have a Cloud Scores folder in my files. So I tried to download the scores onto my computer again and then delete them that way, but every time I click on them, a window pops up saying that I can't download OR open the scores because they were made by someone with a different account. They were not made by someone with a different account, so I don't know why it says that. I'm using MuseScore 4 on a laptop. Has anyone ran into this problem before? Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with this? It's not a huge issue but I just want them out of the way.

It's true that a local copy of every cloud score you create is stored on your computer. The folder is located at:
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\MuseScore\MuseScore4\cloud_scores
(where %USERNAME% is your username)

I wouldn't recommend deleting files from this folder since they are recreated every time you make an edit to the cloud score in question, and because any edits made offline are stored here before being uploaded. And generally, scores don't take up a lot of storage space.

You can delete the score files that you have manually downloaded. They should be present in your Downloads folder.
