MuseScore was very briefly featured on StumbleUpon this week. It looks like the Stumbleupon user is more hooked to MacOS than Windows.
This looks extremely positive even from this stage (not having run it or anything obviously).
It seems that if the font problem can be fixed, then at least it could display the necessary musical elements on the screen.
This will be a significant addition to the music notation market on the Mac once it's up and running.
As a mac user I'm really looking forward to the first native version of this software. So far the results seem quite promising.
Looking forward to this! Any idea when it might be available?

There is a bug in the QT software which MuseScore is built on and which causes the font issue. The next QT release is scheduled for March 2009, so we hope the mac development can continue then.
I'm new here and i'm waiting the OS X version anxiously
Joachim Ganseman gave the MuseScore Mac build another try this month and shared his results on the MuseScore mailing list. He has been digging further into the QT code to find a solution for the font issue but unfortunately it still didn't result yet in a Mac release. If you know a Mac developer, feel free to point him at the MuseScore mailing list. Joachim has been doing a great job so far but sure can use some extra support.
Only 12 hours ago, Joachim Ganseman managed to crack the font problem for Mac with help from the MuseScore users and the developers of Canorus. You can read the technical details here, but the screen shots will speak for itself.
Since the visual display seems to be ok now, the next steps are to check on the sound and the plugin framework. Anyhow, the mac release is coming closer.

The release can be downloaded at http://tinyurl.com/cul4ah Beware it's an alpha version which means there are things missing. See the mailing list for the missing elements and/or bugs.
Don't hesitate to report your findings!

As tweeted a couple of days ago ( http://twitter.com/musescore/status/1818654047 ) we are still looking for some extra eyeballs. The bugs present in the alpha version are still outstanding. So, if you happen to know any mac developer, grab their attention and point them to this great OS project ;-)
