xml files needing turned into musicxml or mscz
Got a bunch of compositions which were turned into xmls and i need them to be turned back into musicxml or mscz ASAP!
Ill give an example so if anyone can help please help me.

MuseScore can import xml files but if you can't do it, have a look here for services offered:

none, I guess @underquart justr had a bad day ;-)
.xml and .musicxml is exactly the same format, only difference is the file extension.
However, your .xml files in reality are .mscx files, so just rename them to that

they are coming up blank on musescore when i upload them and they are showing as musescore uncompressed files.
could you try this one to see if it does the same?
and could you show how to rename them im not too tech savvy

Open, then save as MSCZ, which is the default anyhow

But why would you want to restore a blank sheet with lots of instruments? Just create a new sheet ...

They are MuseScore uncompressed files

yeah but when i open the files you sent me this happens or does this happen for you as well
sent a bigger file to se whether that one would end up different

The only file is file000336 that can be opened (after renaming it to file000336.mscx), the others are style files.
With no notes but a lot of instruments.

could i potientially send you a couple more to see if they work? i think this will be my last attempt before i go professional recovery wise

Open them in an editor of your choice, any text editor will do. Then inspect the first couple lines.

i dunno nothings working atm ill take my hard drive to a specialist if there isnt a method to get the xml files back to full musescore scores :/

These .xml files never where full MuseScore scores (except one)

was any of these? i think if not that means they simply arent there anymore and data recovery will need to be sought out

When I changed the extension directly to mscz, it didn't work. I had to change it to mscx first. Then open and save that.

Doesn't make much difference. I still had to change it. The xml wouldn't open.

?? Of course not, as it isn't a MusicXML file but a .mscx that is just named .xml
