MuseScore already has keyboard shortcuts for note length (see note entry for details). You can also change the shortcuts via Edit > Preferences

Just to make things clear regarding the version numbers, the current stable version is 0.9.4. The prereleases available at http://prereleases.musescore.org are just prereleases for 0.9.5 although this version number is not definitive yet. So, speaking about 0.9.6 is far too early and introduces too much confusion.
It's clear you are very enthusiastic which is good of course, but let us use the same terminology which makes it easier for all of us.
That said, if you propose feature requests or report bugs, they might be solved in the next prerelease or they might not. It all depends on the available resources: number of developers and time.

Sure....
I spoke of 0.9.6 as at the time I could not get 0.9.4 or 0.9.5 Prerelease to work after a bug broke it....
Thankfully the matter is resolved now and my prerelease of 0.9.5 is again working.
As for feature requests and bug solving.. I have done some testing on other software so I am aware of the difficulties even a small bug may present and the time it takes to resolve some of the more nasty issues that can arrise.
Features.... For every 20 suggested I would be delighted if even one was considered...
Thanks
