Upgraded score not displayed in "Sheet Music"

• Apr 1, 2016 - 00:16

I updated one of my old scores and uploaded the new version. I then went to "Search for sheet music"
and entered my user name. The score had been updated correctly as I expected. I then cleared the
"Search for sheet music" entry and displayed the new scores currently uploaded. My updated score did not show up in the new daily list. After about one hour of waiting, I repeated the display of new scores, but my
updated score has not yet appeared. What am I missing here? I've done this in the past and had no problem seeing my updated score. Your help would be much appreciated.

Hmmmmm! Well what can I say. Don't know what I was thinking.
Anyway, I think that would be a good thing to do. Otherwise, the only people who would
see the updated score would be those who were following you. No one else would know or care.
That's no fun. Why not share the updated score with everyone? That would be a nice feature to add to MS. Why limit viable options? Looks like I will have to delete the old score and loose my count,
then add the updated score as a new upload; that's a bummer.

Thanks anyway,

Yes, I agree with what you are saying, but if the original score was three years old, it would take ages to drill down on "Sheet Music" to find the score. I would never even try that; would you?
With hundreds of new scores being added every day, they would never find it.

They will if you include tags and other things people could possibly search on. Eg, if it is a fugue, include the tag "fugue" and people will finding when searching for fugues. But as for just scrolling through lists of scores, you have to realize - there are thousands upon thousands of scores people have posted online. They can't *all* be in the top few pages of results.

And I think it is a good thing that updating a score doesn't necessarily "bump" it in the list. After all, one wouldn't necessarily always *want* to mislead people into thinking you had uploaded a new score. And it wouldn't be fair to everyone else uplaoding new scores if you could so easily "bump" your to make them look more recent than they actually are. The way it is now seems better for everyone, I think, if I am understanding correctly.

There is no question about attempting to mislead the community by marking an old updated score as new; I clearly state in my sub-heading that it is an updated release. I don't see much advantage, for me, in making my updated score appear with the new daily releases. By the end of day, there are as many as 300, or more, new scores in "Sheet Music". A new score is off the first page in less than 15 minutes and by the end of day its 30 pages deep or more. In the end I was simply trying to make my new updated score available to the wider community, rather than to the very few who happen to be following me (3 in this case). Why not let the wider community see the new update?
If I were the average John Doe user, I would want to see all of what's available, new or updated.
