Prayer of St. Francis about the spirit of love

• May 6, 2011 - 14:23

Oratorio for chorus and string orchestra. In Belarusian.

Make me a channel of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me bring Your love.
Where there is injury, Your pardon, Lord.
And where there's doubt, true faith in You.

Make me a channel of Your peace.
Where there's despair in life, let me bring hope.
Where there is darkness, only light
And where there's sadness ever joy.

Oh Master, grant that I may never seek
So much to be consoled as to console,
To be understood as to understand,
To be loved as to love with all my soul.

Make me a channel of Your peace.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
In giving to all that we receive,
And in dying that we're born to eternal life.

Hi Aliaksandr,

Interested in translating MuseScore to Belarusian? This can greatly improve the adoption of MuseScore in Belarus and Poland.

In reply to by Thomas

Yes, I have recently thought about this myself. But I'm not good at programming. I can translate, if there is a list of terms / phrases. Also, if there is sufficient time for translation. Another thing I do not know much English. But I can translate all that in musical English.

For translating the software, we have a translation server at http://translate.musescore.org It works very easily in the sense that you simply translate string per string. 900 strings is all what it takes to translate the most important parts of the interface. So there is no programming involved at all.

However, I often advice to translate a few pages at musescore.org first. When Google indexes those pages, more people searching in Belarusian will land on musescore.org and hopefully help out with the translation work.

I just activated Belarusian on musescore.org and to get started with translating the front page teaser page, follow these instructions:

  • Go to http://musescore.org/en/node/1 and hit the translate tab
  • For the Belarusian languages, click on the 'add translation' link
  • the point now is to replace all the English text with the translation while leaving in the markup
  • Once done, you hit the Save button at the bottom of the form
  • Your translation can now be found at http://musescore.org/be

Just try it and you'll see how easy it is. If you have questions, let me know. Thanks!

OK

By the way, Belarus has two official languages. Second - Russian. To searching we use only Russian. Belarusian language for us, something patriotic, oppositional, national. In the Belarusian language spoken only 6%. This is sad. But all the same, all Belarusians know the Belarusian language.

I just added it so you can go ahead.

One more thing: there are a few strings that need manual translation. Could you post the translation for the following strings in a comment?

- Free music composition & notation software
- Free Download
- Version 1.0
- Licensed under the "Creative Commons Attribution 3.0" license, 2002-2011 Werner Schweer and others.

Thanks and great work!
