changing Note heads
Is there a way to change the note head with a plugin script? The Note Object plugin development page does not list the head of the note as one of the properties able to be changed.

It's not possible yet but it will be possible in MuseScore 1.1 and MuseScore 2.0. I created a plugin to generate shape notes notation that I'll release when MuseScore 1.1 is available. See : http://www.screenr.com/2l9
What is your plan with changing notehead from the plugin framework?

I was planning to write a shape note plugin just like you've already done.

Oh great ! I look forward to your feedback since my knownledge about shape notes is quite limited.

I hadn't checked this forum in while, but I am very glad to see this! Any chance that the framework could also be extended able to allow access to the "stemless" and "small" properties too? I guess those are probably chord properties, not note. Even just the stemless property would potentially allow me to write a plug-in to create slash notation. Between that and the new chord xml files, 1.1 could largely address what are probably the two biggest inhibitors to more widespread adoption of MuseScore in the jazz world.
I just looked at the source code for scnote.cpp and saw where this stuff is hooked up. It sure looks like adding new properties/methods to existing objects is pretty straightforward, assuming the underlying objects support whatever is being added. Some day, I hope to get a build environment set up and see about doing some of this myself.

Thanks for your contributions Marc. I sure will value this, also your Jazz chords work.
Thanks to all who are putting so much into this project.
