Is a plugin available to create scale degree notation for music students?
It's time consuming to pencil in the scale degree numbers for music students. 1, 3, 6, 2 over each note.
Is a plugin available?
It's a simple array substitution. Create a two column table/array for the score's key. Then for each note in the score look it up in the table and get the scale degree.
for G
G 1
A 2
B 3
C 4
D 5
E 6
F 7
If there's not a plugin.then can I manually document the scale degrees in Musescore? Right now, I'm doing it by hand with a pencil for students.

There is a note *names* plugin that writes in names, should be easy enough to modify it to use scale degrees instead if you are a programmer.
Biut it's also simple to do this directly; no need to resort to pencil! MuseScore has many different ways of entering text. You could enter it as staff text (Ctrl+T) or as lyrics (Ctrl+L) very easily. For lyrics, it would show below the staff by default but you culd right click a lyric and change the text style to put it above instead. Or just leave it below if you aren't otherwise using lyrics and aren't married to the idea of putting this above. You could also use fingering elements from the palette, but you'd need to customize to add 6 & 7. If it's something you do a lot, though, it might be worth it to find the method that prdocues the best result, then spend the time to customzie things to make it as easy as possible.
If you post a sample of what you are tryng to achieve, we can advise you better.
Hello,
Take a look at the plugin https://musescore.org/en/project/addnotenameheads (one of favorites).
It labels the note heads using solfege nomenclature (do, re, mi, etc.) in any key. If your students know solfege, they can easily determine the intervals of a melody.
Hopefully that is helpful,
Sam
