Note imput automatically gives a fifth between Bb and Eb
Hi all,
It's not a major problem I'm having, I would just like to know what I might have done to cause it and what I can do to fix it:
When adding notes with the keyboard on my computer, musescore automatically chooses the closest note to the previous one, so if I type a C and then an F, it will enter the F a fourth above the previous C. At the moment, when I type Bb and then Eb, it's giving me the Eb a fifth below the Bb. It might me useful to note that this occurs only when I'm in a flat key and only with these notes.
Does anyone know what I might have done to make this happen?
All the best

My best guess: it checks for "closest" before accounting for the key / accidental state, so it thinks it is a tritone either way (from the existing the Bb to the E it thinks you are about to enter). I've noticed this occasionally as well.

Thanks for your fast reply! I tested your theory; With a key signature of four flats, the problem also occurs between Ab and Db. You must be right. As I said, not a major problem!
I also wanted to apologise because I am only writing something here when I have something to complain about. There really isn't much to complain about with the great service you offer. Thanks again!
