Project
Having a score (Violin(V2) and piano):
1. If setting the V2 staff properties of the attached score (the violin line) to small staff, then for a lot of notes the stems are not reduced to small stems, and the stem position is wrong. The staff line layout now looks very weird. This effect disappears if I zoom the score with the key combination Ctrl+ (and unzoom then with Ctrl- key).
2. If then unchecking the "small staff" check box, then I expect the original staff line layout, but for a lot of notes, the noteheads are now separated from the stems. This is undependent from a previous Ctrl+ / Ctrl -.
My platform: Fedora 24 x86_64, the code is compiled by myself

Comments
1. Relating to item #1 in my issue, if I invert the direction of some arbitrary stem, all stems are positioned correctly.
2. Relating to item #2 in my issue, I can get rid of the separated stems, by using mscore-revision b2c80cc and inverting the stem direction of some arbitrary note (X). This will remove the distance between note and stem.
Bad news, attempt to open the attached file leads to infinite opening process on current master...
It still seems to lead to an infinite program startup as noted in this comment
