repeat measure sign does not repeat
I use the "repeat measure sign" (the one that looks like a %). Unfortunately, it does not produce any sound, that is, it does not repeat the last measure. Is that the way it should be or am I doing something wrong? Signs like DC and ||: :|| does what they are supposed to do; It would be nice if the % sign really played the last measure.

This sign is not interpreted by MuseScore. You are not doing anything wrong.
If you need it to play back, you could actually cppy the notes into another voice and then make them invisible.

Is it possible to make this other voice disappear completely from printing; not just invisible but also taking no space on the page, as if it was never there?

Not that I know of. But there are some thing you could do that might help. For instance, make the notes "small", and decrease stretch as much as possible. Worst case is you put the notes ina separate staff that is used just for playback but deleted for printing - that is, have separate play and print versions of the score.
I think that having that having measure repeats playback is in the list for 2.0, but I'm not sure about that.

Actually, I've just found out how: using FILE then PART I can chose what to print. Now I can have a staff for sound and another for printing. I can even make small corrections in the format before printing.
I'm placing the keyword simile in this comment so the next person who is, as I was, searching for the word simile (the common name for this sign) will find this thread in a search
