When Musescore for Android, the "other" iPad?
Hi, just thought is curious that being Musescore free software, it's available in Apple Store but not in Android Store, the Open Source OS for Tablets. Ok, Apple is the leader of the market for tablets, but Android OS is second, shure there must be some market share there. Just an idea! :)

The current MuseScore Viewer for iPad will not be ported to Android. However Werner, the MuseScore lead developer, is currently working on a MuseScore Player for mobile devices. This requires a rather large refactoring in the MuseScore code base so it takes quite some time. The end result should be very sweet: the foundation of the MuseScore Player will run on iOS, Android, Windows, Meego and other platforms. Unfortunately, there is no ETA yet but there will be communication via this forum, twitter and facebook once there is more to say about it.

Also, I just wanted you to be clear that MuseScore for iPad is a viewer/player, not the full program. You cannot create/edit on the iPad version.
Right, what you see in the Apple app store for iPad is not MuseScore itself but just a Viewer. Quite nice, actually, and the upcoming Player will be even better, but the technical challenges of getting the whole MuseScore program working on an tablet device are probably pretty immense.
I will note that I do find the Splashtop remote desktop app does a remarkably good job of allowing you to use your tablet (iPad, in my case) as a remote controller for your PC or Mac (PC, in my case). That is, MuseScore is actually installed and running on my PC, but Splashtop lets me control it remotely from my iPad. The effect is just as if you were actually running the app on the tablet, except it's not as fast. If I'm at home - on the same wireless network as my PC - it is actually responsive enough to consider using it some, although of course there is also little reason to if your PC is right there. Splashtop also can run across the Internet, so in theory I can access my PC from anywhere in the world. But it's slow enough that you probably don't really want to do that much. Still, it's pretty amazing to see that it's possible.
Apart from the work the MuseScore team is doing to create an Android app (mostly directed towards showing the notes), I also made a third party app for sheet music. This Sheet Music Extension for Collectionista focuses more on keeping a collection of your scores, instead of the music notation side of things. It allows searching and adding scores from musescore.com. I just launched a crowdfunding campaign today that would let me finish the app and bring it to the market: //bit.ly/smecol . If you could take a look and see if you can invest €1 or more, I would appreciate it. Hurry, it'll be over in 30 days. I'll be selecting beta testers out of these funders.
