Page numbering
I encountered a problem with page numbering and it seems that there is an error
here. Namely, I cannot find the option of having all the pages numbered
including the first one. In the footer section, there is a box saying "Show
the first" but if it is right-clicked a yellow strip appears which explains
that the page number is to appear on the first HEADING rather than footer.
Accordingly if the box "Show the first" is checked in the footer section, no
page number appears in the footer of the first page. The question is: how can
I get the first page numbered?

Insert the meta-tag $P in the footer field. Make sure the 'P' is a capital letter. These meta-tags are case-sensitive. A lower-case 'p' will give you page numbers on all EXCEPT the first page.
