Beams connected over barlines (Early music)
Hello everyone,
Thanks for the Early music features, very helpful with Frederic Chopin although he is not considered as an Earlier Composer.
It works quite well but I still have a problem to connect the beam over the barline. I was wondering if it was possible to achieve.

Try to leave visible the rests of Voice 2.
Click on the rest, double click Beam Middle

A question please: how did you do to enter the voice 2 (or/and the voice 1, to sum, in which order and how?)
Indeed, by removing the notes of the voice 2 on your sample, the rests appear: I only changed the vertical offset to better display them - Ctrl + R changes nothing. And so are tantamount to a corruption (eg, one 16th rest, and three 8th rests, in the second and third measures). See image below (click on it)
Moreover, by adding measures to your sample, and by continuing the input in voice1 (eg, with quarter notes in this 3/8 time signature), the corruption is evident in the 5/6/7 measures. But this "corruption" is not recognized as such after save/ reload the score.
If you recall, can you explain, as requested above, the process step by step (maybe you deleted a rest/rests at a certain place and at a certain moment, or another maneuver?) which has allowed you to achieve this result ? Thanks.

You want to know how did I write my score ? I always use the same process :
Working bar after bar
Entering 1st voice then 2nd one, etc...
I entered an eighth note which has been divided into 2 16th tied notes
I have hidden all the rests of 2nd voice (they matched with the notes)
Then I went on Style/General/Score/Display .....
16th tied notes were switched into an eighth note as I wanted. (I did not care about the rests, they were hidden!)
If I have a look at the score rests and notes are well spread (see picture).

I tried your process. By now, I'm missing a few pieces (in particular, it's not clear: "I entered an eighth note which has been divided into 2 16th tied notes ) of the puzzle.
Could you please reconstruct, from scratch in a new file (to attach), by simply entering the first measure of your previous attached score: A note across 2 barsB_0.mscz
For example, do:
- Enter notes Voice 1 first measure
- Copy-paste this first measure in the second measure
- Now enter the notes Voice 2 in this second measure (and without hiding the rests in this process)
