Soundfonts
I would like to import soundfonts for each instrument. For example: If I wanted a new timpani soundfont, I would be able to replace just the timpani sound without changing Musescore's soundfont.

You can do that via soundfont editor (there are free ones available).

Use the soundfont editor to c ustomise the samples.
The original Creaive Vienna Software can be found here:
http://connect.creativelabs.com/developer/SoundFont/Forms/AllItems.aspx
But you may need a password to access it. and also have a Creative Labs Soundcard installed.
There is also a freeware SoundFOnt editor called Viena which can be found here:
http://www.synthfont.com/
That one works with any soundcard.
