Palette functionality corrupted

I've realised that's something that only happens in my laptop (in my other computer palettes work fine). So something has become corrupted.

I've tested the following nighties: 5201, 5216, 5224, 5225, 5228. I run Windows xp.

Let's see what has happened:

1) Some days ago I started testing nightlies for the 1st time in my life.
2) The palette features worked as they should:
2a) All the buttons in the 'Beam properties' palette worked fine.
2b) TheTremolo palette had all the different kinds of tremolo working.

3) HOWEVER, since a couple of days, the Beams palette doesn't work:
3a) 'Beam start' produces a grace note
3b) The rest of buttons don't work
4) All the tremolo buttons now look the same (1 slash over the stem) and do the same.

Therefore, something must have CORRUPTED files in my computer, since in my other computer everything works fine. Palettes don't work well in any of the aforementioned nighties, but they do in other computers.

PS. Every time I download a nightly, I unzip its content on my desktop, in a regular folder. After testing it, I delete everything (zip and normal folder), so I've downloaded and deleted every nightly at least twice.

It works, but when I restart the program, everything is messed up again.

BTW do the nightly palettes and the ones I use in 1.1 "communicate"? Because the ones I use in 1.1. have been heavily customised.

In fact, the program doesn't remember any change done to the palettes, every time I open it, it shows the same things listed above.

Nope.
Maybe it was related to this: #15170: [trunk-r5375] - Message when loading the build: "Error reading container.xml..." Also, there are no palettes.

I deleted the prefs and palettes in my user profile (c:\documents and settings\username, etc) and reinstalled everything.

I guess replacing the (presumably damaged) 2.0 preferences folder in my computer fixed it.
