sound during note entry
Hi,
Using MuseScore 2.0 preview [R.5531] on MacOS X, I'm not getting sound during note entry when I expect it:
MIDI input is on
Enable sound while editing is on.
Go into note entry mode, play a note on the connected MIDI keyboard: the note does appear in the score, but there is no sound.
If I edit the note (e.g. press cursor up) I do hear the new note. If I exit note entry mode, I do hear notes that are played. The only silent ones are new notes going into the score.
Version 1.2 does play the sound of the note in the same circumstances. Was this a deliberate change between 1.2 and trunk? (If so, is there a preferences option to enable it again?)
Thanks,

Not deliberate.
Do you have sound while entering notes with the computer keyboard? Check Preferences -> Note input
It's better to use the technology preview forum for this kind of requests.

Yes, there is sound if I type note names on the computer keyboard.
Preferences "Enable MIDI input" and "Play notes while editing" are both set. MIDI Remote Control is not set.
Thanks,

This sounds like a MIDI Thru issue to me.
If you have a software Thru switch, make sure it isset to On.
It is possible that for some reason the Nightly Build isn't picking up the MIDI Thru messages.
If you could post a screenshot of your Preferences>I/O page it might shed some light.

Preferences screenshots attached.
To clarify, the sound I'm hearing / expecting to hear is the software synth from MuseScore played through the computer speakers. The MIDI keyboard I'm using doesn't have sound output.
Fwiw, I occasionally see this as well, but it usually goes away if I restart, stand one one leg, etc. not sure what triggers it, actually. But I notice it most ofen if I also have 1.2 runnin
