VST and/AU support
Hello, this is my first post in this forum.
First of all thanks for such incredible software.
Even so I would ask if it is not possible to incorporate support for Vst or AU natively in the not too distant future.
Thanks again.

I wouldn't think "native" is possible since they are proprietary softwares.

Hello.
That means that it is not possible to implement those technologies in MS?
What do you mean by AU?
As far as I'm aware it is simply an audio file format used by Sun Microsystems.
If this is what you mean then as libsndfile, which MuseScore uses as a sound programming library, supports AU export, then it would be possible for MuseScore to export AU files.
As for VST, again it is possible.
As with all features, however, someone has to write the code, so if you want these features adding, the best way to achieve it is to either write the code yourself, or find someone to do it for you, then submit it as a Pull Request to the main MuseScore GitHub repository.
At that point the development team will decide whether a) the code is up to scratch, and b) whether there is enough demand for the feature to be included.
The attitude in the past, and probably will be for the foreseeable future, has been that MuseScore is for producing top quality scores for human musicians to perform from, and anything playback related is of secondary importance.
There has been discussion of VST support in the past, however, so it may happen - eventually!

Hello ChurchOrganist and thank you for your answer.
By AU I mean Audio Units. It's the format of Apple's virtual instruments.
I understand that Musescore is intended as a score editor and in that it is truly fantastic.
I only think that VST or Audio Units is a better quality reproduction (although the program is not designed for that) and better quality in the reproduction also gives us other possibilities when evaluating what we have composed.
Anyway this program is very good as it is. My question was just a curiosity.
Thanks again for your response.

I'm using MuseScore to drive Ableton Live using JACK. It should work with other sequencers, too.
I posted a how-to a while back (https://musescore.org/en/node/119886).
