String Harmonics notation
How do I indicate harmonics ("flageolets" in French) for strings? In particular, artificial harmonics with a solid note and a diamond-shaped note head a 4th or 5th above the fingered pitch?
Also, how do I indicate natural harmonics (usually a tiny "o" over the note, not to be confused with the "o" to indicate an open string?)
Comments
For artificial harmonics, enter both notes as a chord, then select the top one and change the notehead in the Inspector or from the Noteheads palette.
For natural harmonics, find the symbol in the Articulations & Ornaments palette.
