12-String Guitar
I recently downloaded the soundfonts that the handbook suggested and even though I really like these new soundfonts more than the originals I am still not satisfied with the twelve string guitar.
I love twelve string guitars. I like hearing the octaves, the growl, the bassyness and the chiming they produce. I haven't heard much of this on the newer one.
Is there a better soundfont out there in internet land somewhere? Or am I asking for too much?

A google search threw up quite a number.
Whether they are what you're looking for is anybody's guess :)
Thanks ChurchOrganist for the suggestion. I will follow it.
However, I have another problem. I can not log into the MuseScore forums except by my e-mails.
I went into "edit my account" and saved my new password and also copied and saved it on a word processor, but the log-in page still say," Sorry, unrecognized username or password. Have you forgotten your password?" This makes the second time this has happen to me. Is there a time period for the new password to kick in?

No, but I'm confused - you successfully logged in to post this, didn't you? Also, is it possible you are confusing your account at musescore.com (score sharing web site) with your account at musescore.org (MuseScore program web site)?

Hey Lafayette, don't hesitate to contact me to sort out website issues.
It looks like I was confused and ignorant.
I just now went to musescore.org and clicked on forum and here I am. I didn't even have to put in my password. I am glad to be here, but how come musescore.com wouldn't accept my password?
By the way, I went to google like was suggested and found a number of sites with soundfonts. Now, I just have to figure out how to download and install them correctly. Well, it's back to the old handbook.
Thanks again.

If you need further help on importing your soundfonts into MuseScore please post here :)
Currently the only way of intriducing a 12 string sound into MuseScore 1.2 is to edit the existing soundfont, or just have one instrument available.
Things will be better in 2.0 as it supports multiple soundfonts.

Greetings Church Organist,
Thanks for your offer.
Which brings me to my questions.
How do I edit the soundfont for the 12-string guitar?
Is there just one method for downloading and installing soundfonts or does it depend on the perticular soundfont?

You need a SoundFont editor.
There are a few listed here:-
http://musescore.org/en/node/13734
Or you could try a google search for others.
Instructions on loading a new Soundfont ino MuseScore are here:-

Musescore.com and musescore.org are different sites with differents sets of accounts. Just because you have an account on one doesn't mean you have an account on the other. If you want an account on both, you need to create an account on both. Musescore.org - this site - is where you go for info on MuseScore and to participate in these forums. Musescore.com is a score sharing site, much like Flickr is for pictures, or Youtube for video.
