How to remove a system
I have a grand staff and have decided that it would be better to have a single staff. How can I convert or remove the grand staff? I know that I can change the Instrument but I only want one stave and I can't start over because I have text placed below the grand staff. I want to keep my original score.

For the record, in case it helps in future search of the forum of manual, what you are actually removing is a *staff*. You score has but one system, but that one system contains two *staves*.

Right. Well, what I really want to do is remove the system and replace it with a new system.

No need for all that - simply removing the staff does what you want. But for the record, to remove a system, you remove the measures it contains. So, select the measures, Ctrl+Delete, now the system is gone. Press Ctrl+B to add some more measures, now you have a new system. but it's going to have two staves, just like the previous one, because what you really wanted to do all along was remove a *staff*, not the *system*.
