Dynamic playback volumes
I add a dynamic, go to the inspector and make sure the velocity is set to the dynamic range which I believe it does automatically; however, the volume of the staff is still at high volume. Do I need to individually change the velocity for each note? Am I missing a step? Thank you.

Hard to say, attaching the score would help us do more than guess. But my guess is, the score was imported from MIDI, and thus every note has a hard-coded velocity that was present in the original you will need to reset first by selecting all notes and using the Inspector.

I've selected all the notes, and currently viewing the inspector panel and pressed reset and now it is currently 0. However, on playback all the notes are silent but when I individually click them I do get a sound. I've attached my rough draft score. Thanks for the help Marc.

Did you also do the reset button above it so it says offset rather than user? User velocity of 0 means silent. Offset velocity of 0 means follow dynamics.

Thank you mike320.

So, was this imported from MIDI then? Seems likely. That would explain why the "Velocity type" is set to "User" rather than "Offset". So that is why setting the values to 0 makes them silent. You need to also reset the velocity type, to Offset.

Yes, it was imported from midi. Thank you Marc.
