no playback again
Oh dear, my playback is playing up again.
I tried the 'revert to factory settings' which worked for me last time, but it hasn't reset the playback.
Any ideas please??

The synthesizer is disabled.
Each time I go into Musescore it works fine for a short while but then the problem recurs. Restoring factory settings seems to work sometimes but not consistently.
I've even tried shutting everything down and starting again but it doesn't help if I start up straight away. I don't know what else to try. Is it worth uninstalling and then reinstalling?
Thanks for your help
Jo

Seems like some other application on your system may be interfering in some way, maybe some sort of driver settings that keep getting changed. Have you read the Handbook section on "Known incompatibilities"?

I think you're right. My pdf reader wanted to do an update and since it did that I have had no further problems with Musescore.
Thanks for your help

Someone reported problems with in the last couple of months with an accounting program causing a similar problem. Apparently it had to do with the program printing to PDF. She deleted that program and her problems were solved. It was an old version of the program. I'm not sure if it was peachtree, quicken or something else, but I had heard of it before.

This is the thread I was thinking of, but the problem is different than yours. https://musescore.org/en/node/188076
Could you have something incompatible on your computer that you occasionally use?
