Synthesizer dsappearing
When I use the synthesizer and move a sound font up or down the list, I get the same old pause I always got, but now it disappears afterward. If I alt-Tab twice it or hide then show it it returns to the top of the stack of windows.

What disappears exactly? The synthesizer window? And what OS? Can you list precise steps to reproduce the problem? I tried the following on Windows 10 and everything worked as expected:
1) start MuseScore
2) View / Synthesizer
3) "Add"
4) select GeneralUser GS
5) select GeneralUser GS in list
6) press down arrow
Result: GeneralUser GS is moved down in the list
I guess maybe it's possible some other program is topping itself during the time it takes to load the selected soundfont?

Window 10 871c8ce
1. Open musescore
2. click view-> synthesizer
3. select any sound font already loaded
4. Click an arrow to move the sound font up or down
5. Synthesizer disappears but is still open. It still checked in the view menu, and unchecking it just makes it stay gone. The selected sound font is moved appropriately.
6. Using the menu to uncheck the check the Sythesizer or pressing alt-tab twice returns it to the top of the window stack.
I normally keep MuseScore occupying the top half of my screen and the synthesizer does not normally extend below the bottom of the MuseScore window. I just tested it by moving the synthesizer window so it is partly below the main window. Focus is actually changed to the main MuseScore window which is place directly on top of the synthesizer window. alt-Tab changes focus to another program, alt-Tab again returns focus to MuseScore with the synthesizer on top. For further testing I maximized the MuseScore window and ran the same test with the same results.

Win7 is'nt confirmed.
Actually on win7, I can not send the synthesizer window to the background.
Can this (normally) be done in win10?

It stays on top even if I select the main window. I can move it out of my way, click the main window and enter my score with the synthesizer still on top.

Weird. Works fine for me on Windows 10. I can't think what sort of system dependency might affect this.
