1. Can you change the size of the measure number font at the beginning of the staff line? In the style menus I changed the size and interval but only the new intermedate measure numbers get larger.
2. Is it a bug or just me that when I select a note , go to the fingering palette, and double click a plain number it prints right on the note, and I have to then drag it up over the note with the mouse, however, if I choose a number that is circled on the palette, it automatically places the circled number above the note.

Existing measure numbers should get updated next time they are regenerated - like the next time the score is loaded, or if the score or page layout changes in a way that changes which measures get numbered.
It's true that the ordinary fingering numbers are not placed well by default. I think there has been been some effort to improve that for 2.0, but I haven't tried that out lately. Feel free to download a nightly build to test for yourslf - see the Download link at the top of the menu at right of this page.

There is a reload feature under file that gives you the option of saving or discarding.
This MuseScore2 Program is outstanding. Ive just used the fretboard and it makes a great template to work from. Use the text to indicate which string is open or closed with a lowercase "o" and "x". The pallete holds a perfect sizes dot, which will sit on the string/fret board indicating where the fingers are placed.
I have attached a file that contains a Foto shot of a Fretboard describing a particular combination in E minor 7, or minor E7, depending on how you swing!

Ola. There is a lot more simpler to do that in MuseScore nightly builds !
Select a note, go to the symbols palette (the last one), double click the fretdiagram. Once the diagram is in the score, right click it -> Fret properties and change the diagram from here.
