Version 0.9.5 Problems
We have been using version 0.9.4 for a few days, but decided to try the new download. We ran into a couple of problems.
1) Cello (violincello) is in the incorrect key. The the bass clef is shown, yet the notes are 3 half-steps too high. This is not how it was in 0.9.4.
2) Each instrument has a lot of reverb, and turning this down with the mixer did not fix the sound.
3) The snare drum volume has become excessive and drowns out the rest of the drum kit.
We are using the Unison.sf2 sound font. Thanks.

Do still encounter problems with the cello if you start a new score or is it just one score that you are having problems with? My guess is that you accidentally changed the transposition by 3 half-steps. To change it back follow the instructions below:
With regards to reverb and snare drum I suggest using a different SoundFont if Unison.sf2 does not work well for you.

We did not transpose the cello, and when we reinstalled version 0.9.4 all of the problem - well, all of the problems - disappeared. The cello was back to the correct key and the sounds were much more 'normal'.
Now I could go on for awhile about the problems we had uninstalling 0.9.5 and reinstalling 0.9.4, but I'll put that off for now! (had to edit the registry to get rid of a C++ RunTime error!)
The Unison.sf2 sound font is quite nice and in version 0.9.4 program plays the instruments as expected. I tried other sound fonts, but I was not as impressed. However, I am not against trying a better sound font if you know of one!
I'll take any help I can get. Thanks.

Feel free to post the file with the cello that you were having trouble with. Did you check the staff properties dialog while you were still using 0.9.5?

Attached is just a simple example of the problem. I created a brand new simple file with just Violin, Cello, and Piano. If I change the Violincello part to another instrument (SynthBass, ContranBass, Strings), then it is in the correct key. But if I leave it as Cello, it is not correct! Again, this does not happen with 0.9.4.
I am not sure why this would be, but I figured someone might want to know!
Again, using the Unison.sf2 file. I'll be happy to try other fonts, just tell me how to get ones that have a full orchestra!
Thanks.

That is really out of tune! The source of the problem is the Unison.sf2 SoundFont. As a result I removed Unison from the list of recommended SoundFont . The two other recommendations (FluidR3_GM.sf2 and MagicSF_ver2.sf2) play your score back correctly.
Thanks for the other font names.
I just find it remarkable the the Unison.sf2 sound font was NOT out of tune with version 0.9.4. Only with the new version is the sound font not working correctly. That includes every instrument being at a high level of reverb -- that cannot be lowered on the 'mixing board'. Don't have a clue as to why this is!
I'll try the other fonts and get back to you.

I added the cello problem to the issue tracker: http://www.musescore.org/en/node/2301
The reverb dial works in 0.9.5 RC2.
