Staff Spacer and Hide Staff

Tried on Windows 7 and Windows 8

See the attached song.

I have turned on "Hide empty staves" because the verses are in unison; there is no need for two staves. However, I now cannot space the staves using the staff spacer. Any suggestions as to how I can space the staves so that all the verses fit between them while not screwing up the spacing for the refrain?

I normally use vertical frames in these cases.

BTW, it appears you attached the backup version of your score rather than the regular version - not the trailing comma. It probably also started with a period. Be careful not to be fooled by that in the future.
