HELP please here... I am running MuseScore in both Linux Mint 7 and also in Win XP (I know...) on two different machines. I have a PILE on stuff to load into this excellent programme and have borrowed my sons MIDI 2 octave Evolution Midi keyboard to help get - at least - the top line in.

Sadly, or stupidly maybe??) I cannot get the midi keyboard to function in either OS despite loading the Windows driver in the XP system.

I have a wedding to do on Saturday (8th) and wantd to be able to transpose elegantly (as MuseScore does so well) for Bb and Eb instruments.

If someone could please help here and email me at pgiffo@talk21.com to point out how much of a klutz I am I would be very grateful.......... thanks!!!! Regards - Peter

Hi and thank you for your very prompt reply. I have downloaded the latest as below on to our XP box - yup, lots of very nice features it seems in your superb programme.

But, I must be doing something wrong here as the keyboard is active (lights on), Windows driver loaded but MuseScore still does not see it at all.

Probably me being very thick here?? I have enabled for MIDI input etc......

Best regards - Peter

PS is there also the Linux RC update (once I get the Midi keyboard input going of course!).

On windows, you can run this small utility. http://sourceforge.net/projects/portmedia/files/portmedia/131/pmdefault…
I think you can choose your default midi in with it. And musescore will use the default. I didn't try it myself because my keyboard worked out of the box, so I'm not sure it's necessary. Let us know :)

Regarding linux, the rc2 is avalaible for ubuntu here : https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/ppa
