Hairpins (crescendo/decrescendo)
I can get the hairpins in my score OK, but I don't hear any difference in volume. I am adding by selecting a note and pressing "H" or "Shift+H". Is there more I need to do?

Hairpins are among the markings that are not directly supported for playback. However, there does exist a plugin you can download and install (see Plugins menu at right of this page). If you select a range of notes and run the plugin, at least the MIDI velocity (= starting volume) of the notes in the passage will be adjusted to increase or decrease gradually. Still, individual loing note notes will not get gradually louder Future versions of MuseScore will include similarly limited support more directly (ie, no plugin needed).
