Polish translation
Hi,
I would like to translate MuseScore into polish. I've already translated several programs, like GNU Solfege and
Frescobaldi, but they use a PO (Portable Objects-i.e. gettext) files for translation. So, I'm not familiar with
Qtlinguist and couldn't manage to create "mscore_pl.ts" file wich is needed for translation.
If you are interested in polish translation please help me with this task by either:
1. Creating and sending me .ts file, or
2. Claryfing me step by step what should I do to get this file, namely:
a)I don't know what the second step in instruction( "2. Enter the build directory") mean -which directory is "build" .
b)I can't find linux version of Qtlinguist - is there similar program which could do the same thing?
I'm on Fedora 10 and downloaded SVN latest version of MuseScore.
Thanks in advance,
Best,
Piotr

Hi Piotr,
Qt Linguist should be in qt-devel package for fedora.
I will create mscore_pl.ts file, commit in SVN and let you know.

I need the name of Polish language in Polish. Is it Polszczyzna? First letter capital or not?

I followed Wikipedia and used "Polski". Hope it's ok.
The ts file is here: http://mscore.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mscore/trunk/mscore/share/loca…

'Polski' or rather 'polski' (with small letter) is ok. Polszczyzna is out of use for years.

Hi,
Thank you. I found Qt Linguist - you were right, it's part of the qt-devel package.
I downloaded the .ts file and I will translate it .
Thank you for your help,
Hi perotinus,
Let us know if you would like to translate the website as well. A translated website will drive much more Polish people to the website and chances are higher that you can get support with the translation of the ts file. All it takes to start is translating the 7 menu pages.

Hi,
I would like to translate a website and a manual too, of course.
I let you know when I am ready with the program.
