Oversized instrument names
Sometimes the size of instrument names become out of proportion - possibly due to adjustments in the instrument list and scaling.
To correct this, you go into 'Stave Properties…', select all the text, delete and re-enter it.
I don't know if the plug-in framework for MuseScore 1.3 would allow for this, but would it be possible to introduce one that does it for all instrument names?

I wondered perhaps it could be extended in a way to other elements (e.g. stave text, lyrics).
It's an interesting idea. But it won't be necessary as of 2.0 because the text style mechanism will automatically update existing text. And I don't think it's possible to do this in the current plugin framework.

I can't confirm if 2.0 would resize for new scores, but it doesn't update text in the score I uploaded.

Not in a 1.3 score, no. Only in 2.0 scores. Or, I suppose, if you manually assign the 1.3 text a text style. Not sure if that's possible for staff names, though.

And actually, for instrument names specifically, it seems that even for 2.0 scores, a text style change only takes place after reload. That seems like a bug. Most other size changes take effect immediately after a change to the text style.
Has too much Christmas pudding caused me to miss something here? I tried creating a score and then saved it as a XML to allow me to investigate the font size etc. and when I re-open it MusceScore has resized the stave names for me on accountof XML missing the font information). I realise that this might cause some loss of MuscScore-specific features in the score but if you do it early enough then the damage should be minimal. (Version 1.2, ubuntu 12.04).
