Questions regarding entering eleven 8th notes for one 4/4 measure also number below the notes and 8va
Trying to transcript the attached music sheet. Encountering a few questions as above:
1. How do I entering first measure?
2. 8va to play an octave higher in measure 7. Is there a symbol in musescore for that or do I just need to manually do it?
3. Also in the first measure, what is the number 3 below those notes? thanks.

For number 2. see line: http://musescore.org/en/handbook/line
If you have not yet found the time, I recommend that you read the handbook, the link is on the right side near the top.

So here's what I got so far.... Please let me know what you think compared to the pdf file above, if it's musically sound correct...
How do you do the tie across staves in measure 16?

Hmm, that doesn't really explain how you can run a tie from the bass clef to the treble cleff in measure 16 as shown in the pdf.
In reply to Hmm, that doesn't really by wildpig
It's not a tie it is a slur or phrasing mark.
See http://musescore.org/en/handbook/cross-staff-beaming to see one way of doing this.
Also http://musescore.org/en/handbook/slur will help you.
You could just do this by dragging the slur control points, but it will not change with the the layout if you do it that way.

Measure 16 of the pdf shows a slur, not a tie, running from the bass clef to the treble clef.
See:
http://musescore.org/en/handbook/slur#Adjustments
also:
http://musescore.org/en/handbook/tie
Additionally, the last note in treble clef measure 13 of your (.mscz,) attachment differs from the corresponding note in the pdf.
FWIW: Your attached MuseScore file (which has a trailing comma, is actually a backup file).

Man, nothing escaped your eyes :). Thanks for the correction on 13. I also got slur to go from bass to treble cleft. Learn new thing everyday. :)

Ok, I got to measure 26 and 30. Is there like 3 voices there? How am I going to assign which should be voice 1 2 and 3? Actually this voice assigning question would be for the whole piece: whenever there's more than 1 voice, how can I know which should be voice 1 (the primary one) and which should be 2nd voice, etc?
The note "do" in measure 26 is not done correctly if it's in 2 different voices you can't make a tie and it ends up being 2 "do".
In reply to Three voices? by wildpig
...be aware that rests in voice #1 can only be made invisible, whereas in other voices rests can be made invisible, or even deleted.
You are correct about needing 3 voices in measures 26 and 30 of the treble clef. The first note in each measure is a whole note which is at the end of a tie, so it should be in the same voice as the note preceding it - presumably voice #1.
The two quarter notes on beat 2 (attached to the same downward-pointing stem) should be in a separate voice.
The remaining notes should be in still another voice.
The rest below the whole note is absolutely necessary for clarity, other rests which appear may be made invisible/deleted.
You need to revisit measure 26 and follow the above, so that the tied notes on beat 2& and beat 3 are in the same voice - you used a slur, not a tie. Also, if you look closely, there is a half note rest buried under the note on beat 3. This rest can be made invisible, or even deleted.
Regards.

So here's what I got so far. Still can't quite do the slur correctly at measure 32-34. Grr
This gotta be one of the more complicated one I've done. Not sure if the problem is due to the voices....
It hurts just to transcript this. I can't imagine how to even play it. And how can you even play the 2nd to last measure? There's not enough fingers in two hands....
I am still not quite sure if the whole thing sounds correct compared to the original score and the real sound. Much appreciate any input. Thanks.

Sounds as though it has been a good learning process for you :)
I've done that slur for you and also fixed another one which was colliding with the alto voice.
The penultimate bar is performed by depressing the sustain pedal when you strike the first chord.
It sounds fine :)

That makes senses on how you play the 2nd to last measure as I couldn't figure out how you would do it otherwise.
Regarding that slur at measure 32-34, I just now notice if I select first and last note and hit s then it would do it correctly. If I just drag and drop and then use shift + or - then it doesn't do it correctly.
Been real good learning experience. I am only early beginner. Just learned how to play Minuet G major and star spangled banner. But playing with musescore really teach a lot about the score.

Great. Thnk. Will check them out...
... especially because you started this topic by asking: 'How do I entering first measure?' (March 8th)
You've certainly come a long way.
I had a look at your original pdf score and also listened to the recorded version ('Eyes_On_Me_Piano_Instrumental.zip').
Opening your attached 'Eyes on Me Piano Collection_1.mscz', I noticed:
Some slurs (eg. used for expression) are missing compared to the pdf - especially on page 1 - not as critical as missing ties, though, which are more noticeable when listening to the score.
Concerning ties:
Meas. 15 & 16 ties are missing (compare your instrumental recording to MuseScore playback - you can hear the notes playing in MS because the ties are missing).
Concerning rests:
Meas. 61 - you should hide the rest (beat 3) under the tuplet - especially if you print the score.
Meas. 67 - hide the rest (beat 1).
Meas. 68 - move (or temporarily delete) one of the middle notes of the whole note chord, you'll see a rest which needs to be dragged above the staff. Then put the note back.
Concerning arpeggio notation:
Meas. 60 - you can delete the very short, disconnected arpeggio symbol at the very top of the chord, then double click on and stretch the remaining symbol to include the top note of the chord.
Meas. 61 - same as meas. 60, only the tiny arpeggio symbol is colliding with the sharp sign. You can zoom in to see it, click it, and delete it, then stretch the remaining symbol.
Meas. 62 - same as meas. 60 & 61.
Also:
Meas. 63 - treble clef arpeggio is missing. Bass clef has a voice collision - double click on the low G and use right arrow to move it so it looks like your pdf score.
Live with this piece awhile, and you may find more stuff to tweak... good luck and regards.

Ok. Hope this would be a definitive ver. I went back and made some more proof read and note corrections and other changes. I even add the finger numbers.
If anyone sees any other good suggestions, let me know. Thanks.
I definitely enjoy using musescore. There seems to be not much of anything that it can't do...But of course there's always room for improvement.
