Select Preferences/ Keyboard Shortcuts
Choose any empty item. Enter M. You get the message: in use for multirest. Choose clear and enter another used shortcut key, e.g. R. You cannot add it, but you get no message (in use for repeats) until you click in another application.
I'm running version 2.1.0 on Windows10 revision 871c8ce.
