Can't get my keyboard to connect to MuseScore
Hello. I can't seem to connect my USB MIDI Keyboard to Musescore. I tried to follow the steps in videos, but my keyboard doesn't show up in the devices drop-down menu in the I/O tab of preferences. My keyboard is a Casio Privia PX-400R - connected to my Mac by USB.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joel

Start MuseScore after the keyboard is switched on.

Have you tried restarting your Mac?

Just restarted and no change
Try connecting the keyboard to garageband. If it doesn't connect, your plug or keyboard may be broken or not working properly.

Garageband isn't detecting it. Are drivers needed? I can only find the drivers for Windows, not Mac. It is an older keyboard that I've had for many years.

I don't know much about drivers, so I can't help there.
But, I have another question. Does your keyboard just have a USB output, or does it also have MIDI in and out outputs. If you have these, you can pick up a MIDI in/out plug and plug it into your keyboard. You can get these for about $20 - $40 CAD.
Or, you could get a new USB plug.
Hope this helps!

Yes, it has MIDI in and out as well. I will try it. Thank you!
