Updating Musescore in Linux
The 1.1 version of Musescore that I am using comes in the Linux Ubuntu Software Manager. Is there anyway that I can update my Musescore by using command line (terminal)?

You can add the stable PPA to install MuseScore 1.3 https://launchpad.net/~mscore-ubuntu/+archive/mscore-stable

I think I tried that and I got some kind of warning saying not to allow PPA packages or something. I think I was looking at a page here http://musescore.org/en/node/25785 That looks really really complicated to me. Just the first step had me running for the door.
I have something in my downloads labeled mscore-1.3.tarbz2 but I don't know how to install it. I'm wondering what would be the simplest way to upgrade, since I hardly know the tech jargon that people talk. Usually i get the file manager up and extract whatever is in there and it does the rest. But it only works for one file. If it is a big package of files, it doesn't want to put it altogether by itself. In those cases, I just trash the bundle. 'm lost. But it sure would be nice to upgrade.
