pickup notes

working from piano bk one pg 58 Faber Piano Adventures - accelerated book 1 for older beginners
There is a pickup note in the 17the measure and I don't know how to get the pickup note in there so that there is one single note to hit before I move on to the next measure that has the 2,3,4 duration in its measure.
