Add a vertical line or a dash to a measure?
Can anyone tell me how I can add vertical lines and dashes to a measure?
Thank you.

Make adjustments to Color, Thickness and Line type (solid, dashed etc.) in the "Line" section of the Inspector. Ticking "Diagonal" here allows you to create a diagonal line by dragging the end handles;
explains more about what you would like to get ;-)
You can make two separate measures and make the barline dashed, then make either measure not be included in the measure count.

Thank you for the replies. My apologies for not being sufficiently clear. I don't want to add the lines to a note, I want to add the lines to a measure instead of a note. I'm trying to create a simple drum chart. I've seen a few different systems but they don't seem quite right for me so I'm endeavouring to create a kind of hybrid. The vertical lines came from the Johnx method https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=T6iSyC0oKJw
I can do it with a text box and use forward slashes, that seems to work ok. Or I can use a text box to say 16 bars, that works ok too! lol.

If I understand what you mean correctly (I saw this in the link you sent) select your measure(s), then go to Edit>Tools>Fill with slashes. That should do the trick.

That's most helpful, thank you both very much.
My system is coming along quite well, a combination of bars with slashes and Text information above for Song Form, and normally written bars for Characteristics and Prompts.
Thanks again.
