MS 2.2.1 Score with selected element doesn't show any difference with and without keyboard focus
Steps to reproduce:
-select a chord by clicking once on it (it appears blue)
-use up and down keyboard arrows: chord symbol moves on score, it has keyboard focus
-click on style drop down in inspector
-use up and down keyboard arrows: style is changed, chord has lost keyboard focus, but chord appearance on score is not changed at all from when it had keyboard focus
Behaviour is correct and keyboard focus of the style drop down list is indicated by a blue rectangle,
BUT the fact that the chord is displayed exactly the same (= "just" in blue) on the score with and without keyboard focus is a bug.
Note: it was the same in MS 2.1
Comments
Doing things in the inspector mostly doesn't (and shouldn't) change the selection in the score; whether that selection is a range of items or just a single note or chord symbol.

Fully agree, I have never asked that.
What doing things in inspector does though, is remove keyboard focus from score, and this removal of keyboard focus is not reflected in score appearance which is the bug.

But being highlighted in blue doesn't mean "you have keyboard focus" at all. It means you are selected, which is an indication as to which element a bunch of actions will apply.
After having set the keyboard focus to the inspector; click once on the tabname of the part/score to bring focus back to the score area. Now pressing the keyboard arrows will once again move your (still selected) chord.

I agree, and this is exactly the problem: we miss something more than just "being blue" in the score to show that the chord has the keyboard focus

Chords don't have or not have keyboard focus, they are either selected or not. Not all keyboard commands act on the selected chord. What potentially has keyboard focus is the score window. Probably that is what should change in some subtle way to indicate it no longer has keyboard focus.
