Using Musescore with an audio interface

I'm considering installing Musescore, and am doing some general research before diving in. One question I have is: can Musescore be used with an audio interface (AI)? I use a Presonus Studio 1810 AI for my work in my DAW (Studio One) and would prefer to use my AI with Musescore as well (instead of using my soundcard).

I did not see any clear guidance in the Musescore Handbook about using an AI...will Musescore automatically detect my Presonus AI upon installation, so that I can choose the AI in "Preferences"?
