OS: Windows 10 (10.0), Arch.: x86_64, MuseScore version (32-bit): 3.0.0, revision: d1e759d

  1. Create any score with any instrument name to the left of the staff
  2. Select instrument name
    Result: nothing happens with left click or double left click. Right click opens score context menu.

Instrument names are like headers and footers special as they are generated by layout. They can be edited in the staff properties editor or the style editor.
Its not possible to change one individual instrument name. The semantic of editing an instrument name would be different if we would allow it as all instrument names would change. Implementing this has some problems so currently its disabled. This is done "by design".
