Portaudio

What is the Portaudio feature in the MuseScore Preferences and in the I/O tab? Does it have to do with recording the sound because it can attach to my web cam which has a microphone on it.What feature is this for? Can this program write the notes for you as you play the music in the microphone?How would you use this feature?If you prefer to email me email me at waveracer200@aol.com.

PortAudio enables the connection to your soundcard for playback the score you write.
It has nothing to do with recording the sound of your microphone, at least in MuseScore.
MuseScore is not meant for this and it will not write the music you play by listening you.
