A more natural way to write tab with capodastre for the guitarist.
Hi, I think the best to write tab with a capodastre is to have a 0 for open string and the actual fret number when the note is fretted. It's a more exact way of writing tab but Is it simple to program this feature? I dont know...
It's not possible with other software I know as TablEdit or GuitarPro.
But it'a possible with Sibelius ( img )

I'm not sure that it's any more exact since you'd end up playing the same tune either way. It seems more to be a difference of absolute fret numbers vs relative (to capo) fret numbers. For me, as a TAB only reader, relative fret numbers are best; absolute would be confusing. Hopefully one of MuseScore's experts will be able to help you. I wonder if you could enter absolute fret numbers but transpose the playback to allow for the capo?

Relative number are not so good in my opinion. It pushes you to make mistakes if you play differents pieces with capo on different places. And when number is high you make an effort to figure where to play. Real fret numbers are always the same for the same note. And sometimes in finger style you can use partial capo, or multiples capos or spider capo which coul be highly confusing if you don t use real fret numbers.

Sounds like MS could ideally offer both options to suit different playing styles and preferences.
I only ever use a full capo, and only play on a classical guitar, (non cut away), so fret numbers rarely go passed 12 so it's hard to get lost. Relative fret numbers make chord transposition so simple as the capo just feels like it's the nut. There are no fret dots/markers on a classical guitar neck so they don't provide any absolute frame of reference.
