I spent many hours creating several scores to use with my musical group. After I updated my version I was no longer able to open these files... very frustrating

Unless you decided to delete version 2 for some reason it's still there and will work fine beside version 3. Version 3 opens version 2 files just fine. The score you attached is a backup because it starts with a . and end with a ,
We can't download backups, so you need to find the correct score and attach it.
