Out of Range notes

If a note outside the normal range of an instrument is entered it shows red. It shows grey if the note is considered in an impractical part of the range. That is excellent. But the colour indication only displays once the cursor has moved to another note! It doesn't indicate when the note is actually placed (or about to be placed).
I understand that a 'live' note is blue. Would it be possible to indicate during live placement whether a note is out of range by indicating red? I think Sibelius behaves like this.
