Turn off Rule Checking?
Hello,
I wonder if it is possible to turn off auto spacing and rule checking when entering or editing notes. By that I mean allowing notes of any value to be entered regardless of time signature and allowing notes to be entered between existing notes without affecting them. I still use Encore a lot simply because of this feature altho it is unsupported and has its own troubles. It allows me to write any phrase or motif in a measure and move notes forward or backward in the motif to try out ideas. It's much faster and easier the having to rewrite each possibility from scratch. Of course once I've decided on what I want I have to clean up my own mess but that's generally easy. Encore's response to an excess of notes in a measure is to simply playback notes in the order they appear until it meets the time signature limit then it continues to the next measure. If I want rule checking and auto spacing in Encore, it's just a simple toggle to turn on. I would love to see such a feature in MuseScore. I'm surprised that none of the major notation programs have this feature. I can't be the only composer or arranger who changes his mind or makes mistakes while writing. Thanks, Aaron

Perhaps not entirely what you're looking for, but use Ctrl+Shift+A-H to insert a note with the chosen duration into the measure and at the same time increase the measure duration to fit it in. (https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/note-input#insert-notes)
Similarly, Ctrl+Del can be used to remove a selected note/range from a measure.
