can't find my composed pieces
I did something and cannot find the piece I was just working on... where would it be and how would I find it?

It's really hard to answer without knowing a lot more, but MuseScore saves your scores as normal files on your computer's hard drive (or whatever storage system it provides). Your OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux) normally divides that up into different "folders", and any time you save a file, it goes into some specific folder - the dialog that pops up when you first save a file asks you to choose which. Most likely you saved your file (assuming you did save it!) to a different folder than the one you are looking in now. But there is no way for us to know which folder you actually saved to if you don't remember. I can just say the default in MuseScore 3 is MuseScore3/Scores.
