Stretching a line across a stave adds space between the two staves
Hi,
When I stretch an arpeggio line across staves, at first it looks fine. However, the moment I change another detail in the score, Musescore suddenly inserts more space between the two staves where I did the line span. This means that the presentation is off. I've had the same problem to a worse extent when spanning grace notes across the grant staff. See attached images to see what I mean.
I can't seem to find any way of altering whatever setting is causing this. My gut feeling is that Musescore is treating the line as a part of the top stave, and is adding padding to compensate for when I drag the line down. But I can't find a way of changing this.

Try adding Staff spacer fixed down from Breaks &Spacers palette.
Uncheck automatic placement on the arpeggio to make the upper staff not move.
Thanks! I think both of these solutions work nicely.
EDIT: Mike I'm afraid your one doesn't seem to be always working having checked more thoroughly. Thanks, all the same.

In theory, the automatic placement solution would work, but see #275962: Stave distance widens if there is a cross-arpeggio.
