Entering rests with modifier + number (rhythm entry)

Hello.
I would like to suggest the implementaiton of a "combo method" (mod-key + duration-number) of entering
rest in "rhythm input mode". It looks more efficient for most cases.

eg:
current method: "0 + 4 + 0" toggle rest on, enter eight note rest, toggle rest off to keep going
proposed method: "[mod-key + 4]" hold modifier and click the duration number (doesn't affect rest btn state)

This is simliar to:
