Music notation
Hi, I'm not sure if this is really the place for it, but I'm transcribing a piece, and there's some notation that I'm not familiar with. Can anyone tell me what that (images attached) is?

My guess is it's a dynamic marking "mf", maybe see if you recognize those letter used elsewhere.

Thanks, I think you might be right. It does look quite a bit different than the other dynamics but I can't think of anything else it might be.

Since it's all hand written, it's possible the unusual one was written by someone else.
