floating ties when writing for percussion

hi, i think i would be a good idea to be able to leave floating ties after a note. because when i'm writing to percussion, i want to indicate somehow that the note needs to stay heard for as long as it rings (if that makes sense. sorry for my bad english). one possibility is to write "L.V." (let vibrate) everywhere, but i think it looks nicer and is more commonly used, to leave a floating tie after a ntoe. right now i just put a slur there and make a ton of manual adjustments to it to make it look like a tie.
